Since the beginning of time there has been one constant theme for mankind “progress”. Looking for opportunities to learn, grow, prosper, make life longer, easier and more enjoyable. We are hard wired to look for opportunities, develop ideas and discover new ways of doing things.
It is captured in our Olympic ideals of faster, higher, stronger and kicks in from the day we are born, learning to feed ourselves, walk, talk and ride a bike, drive a car, build a house, and on and on, making progress, getting ahead and playing a bigger game.
However, somewhere, sometime, somehow it got too easy and you went soft, you got more interested in reality TV than making progress. You got more interested in watching MasterChef and eating fast food, you stacked on a few kilos, you got bored with work, you gave up on your hopes and dreams and you decided to accept second best.
Sad, really sad! Last year looks the same as the year before and that one is the same as the year before that, and the year before that. But all is not lost, you just need to tap back in to your genetically wired desire to make progress. Or to put in more succinctly GET OFF YOUR ARSE.
Start small, get some momentum going then play big, really big and don’t let anybody stop you. You are made to make progress, to follow your hopes and dreams, your passion and desires and make them a reality.
You can, you should and you have to, or your dead, because going nowhere is the same as not existing!
