Here we are a few days into the Olympic games and I am really surprised to see people on social media saying that its no good, its not inspiring, the sports are obscure and so are the contestants.
I totally disagree! I am one of the most self motivated people on the planet but the Olympics lifts that motivation to a whole new level.
Rather than the regular sporting stories you see on the back page of the paper week in week out. Here you get to hear about and see in action 4 years of hopes and dreams come to reality. These are people who have had the courage to dedicate countless hours to chasing down their hopes and dreams. People who have overcome struggles, obstacles and adversity (even more so in the paralympics) to get a shot at an Olympic dream. Some will win, some will lose, some will succeed, some will fail. Some get one shot, some will be back again.
If you ever wanted to see the execution of goals in action, the Olympics is the ultimate canvas. I’m not a fan of all the sports but I am a massive fan of the people that give it a go, they try their hardest and give it their best. I love the trials and tribulations and the stories behind the journeys.
Why? Because it confirms that we ALL have the ability to play a bigger game, to achieve more, be more, do more and have more than we ever thought possible. For the average person we don’t need to wait four years to find out if we have what it takes. we can go to work right now, and we should! What will be your line in the sand in your future?
