It goes without saying! Really? Does It?

This week I have a really exciting opportunity in front of me. Is challenging, its exciting and its my BIGGER game for this year.

I was speaking to a colleague that I have known for years and have enormous respect for, about the opportunity and how she might be able to help me with the process. Great conversation, ticked all the boxes,  received all the information I needed.

She called me back about 30 minutes later, and this was what she said. “Rowdy, it goes without saying that I wish you the greatest success, I believe in you and know that you will be able to achieve what you want to achieve in this.

I know you know this but I thought even though you know, I wanted to call you back and tell you anyway.”

Now, I did know, but it was wonderful to hear them actually say it, to have the conversation, to make the support and acknowledgement, real!

How may times do we miss telling someone how much we appreciate their work, how much we appreciate them. How often do we forget to state our support, to shoutout someone else’s achievements. Far too many I reckon.

It goes without saying that you should, walk over to someone else’s desk, sit down with a member of your family, jump on the phone to a friend, RIGHT NOW and tell them loud and clear that you have got their back.

Go on do it, because too often, it goes without saying and then never gets said, and that’s a tragedy!
